How It Works
Pine View High School has had a literary magazine, representing written and artistic works from its students since 1984. Each year, “Kaleidoscope” winners are judged by outside judges and monitory awards given. For the first time, our literary magazine will be posted online at the Pine View website. Our Goal
The Kaleidoscope Literary Magazine goals:
- To provide students with a voice, as well as an audience, for their writing and artwork.
- To provide opportunities for all students to extend learning beyond the normal course offerings.
- To improve writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- To evaluate their own writing and artwork.
- To be a part of a literary magazine.
- To exhibit imaginative use of language, including the appropriate use of imagery, figurative language (e.g., alliteration, metaphor, symbol, personification), irony, and symbolism.
- To provide students with a competitive outlet for their artistic endeavors.
